hi fellow canadian. were from quebec flying to wdw march 2-8..first timers with dd 5 and 12. on leaving day our plane leaves at 5:30pm. was wondering if a chef mickey breakfast is doable with check out times at hotels. what r your tips for leaving day??

    Salut Karen!

Thanks for sending me your question!  Your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation is fast approaching!   Thinking about your last day on vacation is never fun, however your later departure time makes it a little bit easier.  Disney's Magical Express transportation to Orlando airport will generally schedule your pickup three hours before your flight, so you are in luck!  You definitely have enough time to get to Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

My family tries to squeeze every last minute of fun out of our Walt Disney World Vacation.  What I would recommend for you would be to have the majority of your packing done the night before, so in the morning you are able to get up early and go!  Your first stop would be to the Resort Airline Check-in (if applicable) where guests can check-in for their flights and drop off luggage.  If you need to check-in at the airport, or have any carry on luggage, stop at the luggage service desk and they will make sure your luggage is kept safe until you return.

From there, you are free to enjoy the rest of your day!  Head over to Chef Mickey's and maybe even over to the Magic Kingdom for one last ride!  I always let my daughter pick two must do rides on our last day, before heading back to the Resort. I would suggest that you leave the theme park at least 90 minutes before your scheduled pickup time, to make sure you have enough time to get back to the resort and retrieve your luggage.  With the remaining time, you and your family can have a snack or do some last minute shopping before your transportation arrives.

I hope that helps Karen.  If you have any other questions, please let me know.  I would love to help make your first Walt Disney World Resort vacation even more magical.
