Feeling overwhelmed ... we've made dinner reservations each night BUT what to do the rest of each day? How would you plan a day around a 6:40pm reservation at Chef Mickey's? Can do 1 theme park/water park per day and staying at AKL, THANK YOU!

Welcome back to the Moms Panel Lisa!  It's great to see you again.

If I had a 6:40 pm reservation at Chef Mickey's, I'd spend the early portion of my day at my favorite theme park.  I'd head to the Magic Kingdom, for instance. I'd arrive a few minutes before the park's opening time and then visit popular attractions (like Space Mountain or Splash Mountain) first.  Those attractions have very long lines later in the day so it pays to visit them early when the lines are the shortest.  Then I'd enjoy an early lunch at my favorite counter service restaurant (Columbia Harbour House) and hit a few more attractions in the Magic Kingdom.  Indoor, air-conditioned attractions (like Mickey's PhilHarMagic and Country Bear Jamboree) are fun to visit mid-day when the temperatures are highest).

Around 6 pm I'd board the resort monorail in front of the Magic Kingdom.  Disney's Contemporary Resort is the first stop.  Disembark the monorail there and head to Chef Mickey's on the Grand Canyon Concourse.  If you arrive early, you can enjoy a lovely beverage at the Outer Rim before entering Chef Mickey's.  I love to sit near the Outer Rim, reveling in the company of good friends, while I watch the goings-on around the Contemporary.  It's a lovely place to start a magical evening.

Finally, after your dinner with Mickey, you can walk back to the Magic Kingdom to meet some princesses, ride some attractions, and watch Wishes above Cinderella Castle.  Complimentary buses back to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge will depart from the front of the theme park when you're ready to head back to your home resort.

Thanks for your question, Lisa!  Wishing you many magical memories at Walt Disney World.
