Is there a fee to modify a reservation?

Hey Howdy Hey Kathy and welcome to planDisney!

Vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort are usually made months if not years in advance for some. In most cases, Guests can modify schedules accordingly and plans carry through just as thought out. In some cases, however, these plans need to be modified along with reservations. Thank you for stopping by with your question about modifying prior reservations. I will be happy to give you more information on this process.

You are more than welcome to make modifications to your plans when it comes to reservations with Walt Disney World. The fee would depend on the type of reservation and when you make your changes.

When it comes to vacation packages, you can make changes to your reservation without penalty more than 30 days from your date of arrival. At this time, changes made 30 days or less from your date of arrival will come with a $50 fee that is currently stated in the terms and conditions. If you do make changes to your reservation and the price you paid is different than what you currently have booked, you will receive a refund or be responsible for the difference, whichever happens to apply.

With room-only reservations, as long as you make changes more than 5 days in advance of your date of arrival, you should be able to do this without an issue.

If you do need to modify your reservation and you are more than 30 days from your date of arrival, most of this can be done through your My Disney Experience account. Once you log on, under the "My Plans, Reservation and Tickets" section, you should see a blue hyperlink that states "Modify Reservation" on the right of your screen. You can click on that and update accordingly. You should be prompted several times before the changes are specifically made. You can also call Disney and a Cast Member will be more than happy to help make changes. If making changes less than 30 days from your date of arrival, you may only have the option to call Disney and have these changes made. Either way, you should still be able to do so.

I hope this helps give you more information on the fee for changes made to reservations. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach back out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,
