What is the fee for cancelling your dining reservation? And how far in advanced do you need to cancel? The Disneyland website says it is up to each restaurant. And is the Plaza Inn open for dinner? The app only shows Breakfast times. Thank you

Hey there, Sarah! Welcome back to planDisney. Thanks for visiting us again with some great questions.

In my experience, most restaurants will charge $10 per Guest for a cancellation of a dining reservation within 24 hours. It could vary by restaurant and type of dining experience. The exact policy for the restaurant will be noted in the Guest Policies link at the time you are making the reservation, and it will also be noted in the email confirmation you receive when you make the reservation. For instance, when I made a reservation at Lamplight Lounge recently, the email confirmation stated “You must cancel at least one day prior to your reservation to avoid a per person cancellation fee. If you fail to cancel timely and are a no show, the credit card provided at the time of reservation will be charged $10.00 per person.”

Let’s say one friend can’t join you and you want to modify the number of Guests but not cancel the entire reservation. You can click ‘Modify’ in your reservation in the Disneyland mobile app to attempt to update the number of Guests. If for any reason you don’t see the same date and time available, I would not cancel the reservation in case you can’t secure it again. Once you have arrived at Disneyland Resort, just pop over quickly to the host stand at the restaurant to request an update to the number in your party. In my experience, even if this is within 24 hours of the reservation, if you’re making a minor update like reducing the party size by one, they will do their best to make the change without charging you the $10 cancellation.

Plaza Inn is open for breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at which time you'll see your character pals mingling with Guests at the restaurant. In addition, Plaza Inn is currently offering a Lunch Package with Reserved Viewing for the Main Street Electrical Parade from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at which time character pals will be busy meeting Guests in other locations at the parks. The dining package reservations are also available 60 days in advance, like other table service restaurants.

I hope this is helpful, Sarah! Enjoy every magical moment of your upcoming visit!
