This February will be our 4 and 1/2 year old son's third trip to DL/DCA, but our first stay in a Disney Resort Hotel (Paradise Pier). We booked a park view concierge room. Any other ideas to make the trip extra magical for our son? Thanks!

    Hi, Lisa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am glad to hear you will be staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel for the first time this spring. You’ll never have to leave the magic during your visit, especially with a park view room!

The resort can help you celebrate by arranging for special Disney gifts and surprises to be delivered directly to your room at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. There are many gift baskets to choose from that can be customized to a special occasion, favorite Disney character or theme. You can also arrange for your room to be decorated to look like Mickey and the gang stopped by to welcome your family and kick off your vacation with some extra magic! Call the Dream Makers at (714) 781-GIFT (4438) to plan a special surprise.

My favorite table-service dining location to visit with kids is Blue Bayou at Disneyland Park. The restaurant is located right inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, so you can request a table near the water upon arrival and wave to Guests floating by in boats headed to the pirate-filled waters below! Be sure to mention if you’re celebrating a birthday or another special occasion when making reservations because you may get sprinkled with a little extra pixie dust during the meal.

Another special treat is to order one of the Disneyland Resort’s personal-size party cakes. I bet your son would love the Disney Pirate Treasure Chest option that comes filled with cake, a lit candle and special surprise. They are $15 each and can be ordered in advance by calling (714) 781-DINE (3463) or in person during your meal.

I hope this helps, Lisa. Please feel free to ask more questions as you continue to plan your pixie-dusted vacation to the Disneyland Resort!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
