Hi, We will be there Feb 11th . The last time we visited , we were able to get fast pass tickets for some rides. Is that still available ?

    Hello Kim,

Just a few more weeks until you head back to Walt Disney World. You must be getting excited!

Although FastPass tickets are no longer available, Disney Genie+ and the Individual Lightning Lane are two new ways to skip the standby lines to your favorite attractions. Disney Genie+ can be added on to your existing tickets for $15 per person, per day. This service allows you to book Lightning Lane reservations for 40 attractions throughout Walt Disney World. You'll recognize Lightning Lanes as the former FastPass queues.

We used Genie+ on our most recent trip with a lot of success. We were definitely able to book several Lightning Lane reservations, especially on our day in Magic Kingdom! Also, you don't have to purchase Genie+ for every day of your vacation. You can decide each day whether it is something that you want to purchase. If the wait times for the standby lines in parks are relatively low, you may not need it.

Now, there are a couple of popular attractions in each park that won't be included in your Genie+ purchase. You can purchase Individual Lightning Lane access for each of these rides separately. The price varies, usually somewhere between $7 - $15 per person, per ride. Selections can vary, but currently include some "must do" attractions like, Remy's Ratatouille Adventure and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. You do not have to have Genie+ to purchase Lightning Lane access to these attractions. So, you may decide that on the day you are heading to EPCOT, you don't mind waiting in standby lines, but you really want to experience Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. You can absolutely do that. There is quite a bit of flexibility in the new Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane options.

Be sure you have My Disney Experience app on your mobile device. This is how you will be able to purchase Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes. You'll also be able to take advantage of the FREE Disney Genie service that provides wait times, itinerary suggestions, tips, make dining reservations, and even order food at quick service locations.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
