In Feb. my DH, DS (almost 2) and I will be staying at YC. I'm looking for the quickest route to MK (which I know is by bus). But, my ? is, would it save us any time to walk to the BC and grab the bus there instead of in front of YC?

My answer is quick on this question...NO!  I stay at the Yacht and Beach Club resorts all the time and it is not necessary to make the walk over to the Beach Club to catch a bus if you are at the Yacht Club resort.  You are correct in that the bus is the quickest and best way to reach the Magic Kingdom. Taxis will drop you off at the Transportation Center and you will still need to hop on the monorail or ferry boat to reach your destination. The bus will  take you right to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom.
If you are not familiar with the Yacht Club, the bus stop for all Disney busses is out the main entrance and to the left.  The busses will stop at the Yacht Club first and then over to the Beach Club next so it would not gain you anything by going next door. Instead, you can relax in your room or the lobby for a few extra minutes before starting your day at the parks!
