What are your favorite things to do on a non-park day with little ones (2&5)?

Hello Michelle.  Thanks for asking your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Non park days, in my opinion, are sometimes just as fun as Parks day.  In the morning of a non park day, we love to enjoy the resort.  My daughter has always loved swimming and the pools at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels are so much fun.  Sometimes, there will be a pool party going on or a fire to roast marshmallows.  After a relaxing morning, we love to head to Downtown Disney for snacks and shopping.  Downtown Disney has a really fun candy store, Goofy's Candy Company.  You can get made to order treats that are out of this world.  For some free fun, head over to Once Upon A Toy and let your kids play with the Mr. Potato Heads they have sitting out.  When my daughter was smaller, this kept her occupied for quite some time.  If you are looking for a great spot to each lunch, I recommend Earl of Sandwich.  Don't let the long line deter you from stopping in, it moves quickly and is long for a reason.  It is good.  After lunch, we love to walk around and do some shopping.  Downtown Disney has the best selection of souvenirs to take home.  You can find something for everyone.  For dinner, on a non park day, we like to eat at one of the restaurants located in a Walt Disney World Resort.  I suggest dinner at 'Ohana.  'Ohana is located in Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on the second level.  They serve all-you-care-to-enjoy steak, shrimp and pork cooked on a wood fire grill in the middle of the restaurant.  It is our favorite meal at Walt Disney World.  If you can get a reservation one hour before the fireworks over Magic Kingdom begin and request a window seat, you will have a great view of the fireworks when they start while you are enjoying dessert.  The restaurant dims the lights and even pipes in the music from the show.  It is a perfect way to end a relaxing day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
