Hi, Kim!
I’m glad to hear you’re planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort! Yes, all of the table-service restaurants accept reservations, which can be made up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463).
Blue Bayou, my favorite restaurant in Disneyland Park, serves Cajun- and Creole-style food along with the signature drink of New Orleans Square, the Mint Julep. It is located inside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, so I like to request a table near the water. The gently-lit “outdoor” atmosphere is like no other dining experience in the park. Don’t forget to wave to Guests who float by in boats headed to the pirate-filled waters below!
Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue in Frontierland at Disneyland Park is a family-style, all-you-care-to-eat feast in an outdoor ranch setting featuring live music and entertainment. If you have room for dessert, indulge in the S’mores Bake, a warm chocolate brownie topped with roasted marshmallows, graham crackers and hot fudge.
Carthay Circle Restaurant is my top pick at Disney California Adventure Park. It’s on the second floor of the park’s iconic reproduction of Carthay Circle Theatre, and much of the restaurant’s décor pays homage to Walt Disney and his work. This fine dining experience would be a great choice for an adults-only meal, although there is also a kids menu offered.
I also recommend Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel for character dining. In addition to buffet-style breakfast food, Goofy’s Kitchen also offers brunch items, made-to-order omelets, a variety of desserts, a soft serve sundae bar and more food choices specifically for kids. My son loves the Mickey-shaped waffles, and the pizza choices, which include peanut butter and jelly and macaroni and cheese.
Bon appetit, Kim!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
