Hi, Lisa. You've hit on one of my absolute favorite topics: Disney dining! If you ask me, no itinerary is complete until you've given due consideration to where in Walt Disney World you're going to eat. I'm happy to make some suggestions.
Let's talk lunches first. At Magic Kingdom, I have two favorites and both are currently operational. Lunching at
Liberty Tree Tavern is a must do for my family. We love tucking into a quaint little table in one of the colonial rooms for a hearty meal. The menu offers plenty of comfort food selections that are sure to please the family.
Be Our Guest Restaurant is another sure bet for both tasty bites and a beautiful ambiance where you can sit and soothe tired feet. At Hollywood Studios, The
Hollywood Brown Derby serves one of my all-time favorite lunch menu items in all of Walt Disney World; the Cobb Salad will not disappoint. If you can't score reservations in the dining room,
The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is a great alternative that offers a similar menu and a great location.
La Cantina de San Angel at EPCOT is a counter service spot with lovely seating near the water. Their empanadas are yummy! Lastly, if you're at Animal Kingdom, you cannot go wrong with a visit to
Satu'li Canteen. The bowl-based menu options here are creative and fresh and really flavorful. Oh, and do not leave without trying the Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse Dessert.
For dinner outside of the theme parks, you have plenty of options. If you can get reservations,
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs is great, as are
The Polite Pig and
Earl of Sandwich (neither of which require reservations). Sometimes, when we want to go really casual, we enjoy grabbing a taco cone at the
4 Rivers Cantina Barbacoa Food Truck and a margarita from nearby
Dockside Margaritas and finding a spot to linger.
I hope that you'll try a few of the places I've suggested, Lisa. Your taste buds will certainly thank you! Be sure to stop back by planDisney if we can help further.
