Hi again, Shawnee!
I'm so excited that you will soon be aboard the
Disney Wonder. I live in Southern California, and the Wonder has been sailing from San Diego for the past several years. I've been fortunate to sail on the Wonder several times and would be happy to share what I love about this beautiful ship!
Each cruise ship in the Disney Fleet has some unique dining experiences, and
Tiana's Place onboard the Disney Wonder is one of my very favorites. On the evening you are assigned to dine with Tiana, arrive hungry and ready to party! I love the live jazz music and lively atmosphere that accompanies the tasty food here. I recommend the sea bass entrée and the beignets for dessert. If you want more beignets in your life, you can visit the
French Quarter Lounge nearby the entrance to Tiana's Place. The drinks here are well-loved and the details are really fun. See if you can spot any "friends on the other side" from the Disney film, The Princess and the Frog.
I polled my family about their favorite parts of the ship. My husband quickly said
Palo is his favorite place onboard. This is an adult-exclusive restaurant and reservations are required. For a nominal fee, you will enjoy an incredible meal in this sophisticated dining location. If this is your first Disney Cruise, and Palo sounds intriguing to you, inquire about reservations for brunch shortly after boarding the ship. There should be a time listed in the daily activity schedule within the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for guests to make dining requests. I sailed last month, and if I remember correctly, inquiries could be made in the French Quarter Lounge beginning at 1:00 p.m. on embarkation day. Schedules and times are subject to change, so please check the Navigator app. You can also call the restaurant during open hours to request a reservation. Palo is open for dinner and brunch on select days. I always recommend brunch for first-time guests so that you don't miss out on the dining experiences in the main dining rooms at dinner time. For future reference, Palo reservations can be made (subject to availability) when your
activity booking window opens.
My son said his favorite spots are
Edge (a youth space just for 11-14-year-olds),
Eye Scream Treats (Deck 9) where you can get soft-serve throughout the day, and Goofy's Pool in front of the funnel vision! My daughter said
Disney's Oceaneer Lab is her favorite, followed by
Pinocchio's Pizzeria and Goofy's Pool as well.
Lastly, the Promenade Deck on Deck 4 is my favorite spot for an early morning sunrise walk or post-dinner stroll. It's also a great place to relax in a plush lounge chair and read or take in the lovely ocean view.
I can't wait till you can choose your favorite places onboard. It won't be long!
