Hi Lila,
Thanks for sailing over to planDisney with your question! I'm pleased to tell you that the adventurous Moana of Motunui, with all her spunk and bravery, is a busy wayfinder these days, and you will be able to find her in several places across land and sea.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom, she
greets guests at Character Landing daily. My almost 3-year-old nephew was mesmerized and uncharacteristically speechless as she knelt down to hug him and chat recently. Then he couldn't stop talking about his friend Moana.
At Epcot,
Journey of Water, inspired by Moana, is a fun, interactive outdoor trail that tells the story of how water travels from the sky to the ocean. I haven't been lucky enough to see Moana there in person, but I'm told by friends that she often greets guests near the entrance. (If you want to continue your exploration of the ocean,
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is just a few steps away from the exit of Journey of Water.)
At Magic Kingdom, you will find Moana and her friends riding atop a beautiful lighted float in the new
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade, which is dazzling.
And, on the high seas aboard the
Disney Treasure, she stars in
The Tale of Moana, a Broadway-style stage show. I was blown away by the stagecraft and the special effects of this show which brings Moana's journey across the sea to life.
There aren't any restaurants that are specifically themed to Moana to my knowledge, but
'Ohana at the Polynesian Village Resort has a strong Hawaiian/South Pacific theme. Plus, you will see nods to Moana in other places around the Polynesian, including the
Moana Mercantile gift shop.
I hope that's helpful, Lila. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you about your favorite Disney heroine or vacation planning.
Enjoy,
Wilma
