My father-in-law has parkinson's, which WDW resort would you recommend for disabilities. He can walk just fine, but he will need hand bars in the bathroom area. We are going to rent a motorized cart for him at the parks-how much does this cost per day?

Hi Karen.  My mother, too, has Parkinson's, and she has visited WDW with us in her wheelchair.  While they do cost more, we have found the larger rooms in the deluxe resorts (we do request a ground level room with accommodations for disabilities so it will include handrails) easier for her to get around.  We specifically liked the Polynesian with its monorail access to the Magic Kingdom and access to the Ticket and Transportation Center with the monorail to the Epcot.  The monorails are easier to get into and out of with a wheelchair/ECV in case he has one at the resort.  As of January 2007, an electric convenience vehicle (ECV) costs $35 to rent with a $5 deposit.  I'd also encourage you to look at the detailed link that WDW has about guests with disabilities.  It helped us greatly with our planning.
