Hi, there!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jezabel. I'm so glad you stopped by with this great question!
Your little guy is sure to have a magical first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. My kids made their first visits around the same age, and while they don't remember those first trips, my husband and I certainly do! The smiles on their sweet little faces when they rode "it's a small world" and met Mickey Mouse just melted our hearts.
Traveling with a little one in tow isn't always easy, but the Walt Disney World Resort offers lots of convenient family-friendly services. One of my favorites is
Rider Switch. This helpful service allows everyone in my family (except my toddler, of course) to ride a thrill attraction without experiencing two wait times. You'll be pleased to know that two people may certainly wait with your son while two others ride the attraction first. As the person in my family who is usually the one waiting with our little one, I love that I don't have to ride the attraction alone once it's my turn!
Using Rider Switch is easy. As a family, approach the attraction entrance and request to use the service. The Cast Member there will issue a Rider Switch entitlement to up to three Guests. Those Guests will have their MagicBands or cards scanned to add the entitlement, and then they'll wait with your son while the first riding group boards the attraction. Once the first riding group has exited the attraction, they'll wait with the baby while the second riding group enters the FastPass+ entrance with their Rider Switch entitlements.
I think you'll be surprised by how many attractions your baby
can experience. Any
attractions that don't post a height requirement are perfect for everyone in your family to enjoy together!
Did you know that each of the four theme parks has a conveniently located
Baby Care Center? The Baby Care Center is the perfect place for a quiet diaper change or a little break from all your pixie-dusted adventures. You can even purchase baby-care essentials there! We once ran out of diapers at Magic Kingdom Park, and boy were we glad we could buy more at the Baby Care Center!
I hope this was helpful, Jezabel. Please let me know if you have any other questions about traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort with your little one!
