My father was a veteran, and he bought us the 5 day military tickets for a family trip. He has since died and we're unsure about what to do about redeeming the tickets. Would a death certificate be accepted?

Hi Kirsten, and welcome to planDisney.

On behalf of my fellow planDisney panelists, and my own military family, I'm so very sorry to learn of your father's passing. I'm grateful for his - and your family's - service to our country, and I wish your family peace during this difficult time.

The Military Promotional Theme Park Tickets require the sponsoring military service member to be part of the visiting party and to be present to activate the tickets upon arrival at Walt Disney World Resort. If your mother or his surviving spouse has an eligible spousal military ID, this would work to activate the tickets during your vacation. You will need to visit Guest Relations before your first entry into a theme park to show the military ID in order to activate these promotional tickets.

If this is not an option, I recommend reaching out to Guest Relations. You may reach a Cast Member at (407) 939-2273; they will listen to your situation and help you understand the options available. I know hold times are longer than usual right now, but this is your best bet to determine your next steps.

Thank you for stopping by planDisney, Kirsten. When you're all set and ready to plan your December visit, we're here to help with any planning questions you may have. It's always a pleasure to help a fellow military family, and please feel free to contact me directly if I can be of any additional assistance.

    With sympathy,
    Robyn
