Hi David,
Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. We on the panel love helping guests to plan magical Disney vacations!
It sounds like you are planning a stay at one of the
Walt Disney World Deluxe Villa resort hotels, also known as the Disney Vacation Club resorts. These resorts offer wonderful accommodations, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer right in the villa for one-bedroom and larger villas.
There are some two-bedroom villas that sleep up to nine guests. The ninth sleeping surface is either a sleeper chair or a pull-down bed. Typically, the pull-down beds are in the lock-off villas, although they can also be in the non-lock-off villas. The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa feature pull-down beds in both lock-off villas and non-lock-off villas. I suggest that you visit the
Disney Vacation Club website. From the "Find Destinations" tab, scroll down to the resort at which you are going to stay. Once on the resort page, go to the "Rooms & Points" tab. This will give you a breakdown of the sleeping surfaces in the villas for each resort, and whether the villa you are staying in will have a pull-down bed or a sleeper chair.
Please do note that the sleeper chairs are not recliners. The sleeper chairs are big stuffed chairs that can be pulled out into a bed, about a twin-size. If your father prefers to sleep in a recliner, perhaps you could prop up a bunch of pillows or another chair in front of the sleeper chair without pulling it out first.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, David! Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
