Hello! My father qualifies for the military annual pass. We wanted to confirm that he only needs to be with our whole party when the tickets are activated and not with us for every visit? There will be times we might go without him after activating.

    Hi ya, Megan!

Welcome to planDisney! It’s great to have you. As a military spouse myself, please send a huge thank you to your father for his service. We are also very excited to unlock a year of magic. It's the perfect way to make new Disney memories. The ongoing joke in our household is that we are planning for monthly visits for 2026. Although when I say we, it really is just me making the plans and then sharing them with my husband after the details have been worked out. He’s slightly concerned with getting the time off, so our compromise is weekend visits! We aren’t local, so we are definitely going to have to take advantage of those long weekends. Fingers crossed our first visit will be January 2026!

Now, when it comes to activating those tickets, the process is slightly different from previous years. On top of activating the tickets before using them, the eligible service member must also enter the theme parks with you for that first visit. Make sure to plan for one of those tickets to be his for the 2026 year. And remind him to bring his military ID with him! Don’t forget that with these tickets, you will also need a theme park reservation. So make sure to schedule those before you arrive as well.

Megan, I hope this has helped answer your question. I can’t wait to hear all about the year of new magical memories your family will make! You might even want to consider taking advantage of the military offer on Memory Maker. It’s the best way to preserve all those new memories you’ll make during your visit. Have the best visit ever, and if there’s anything else we can help with, please be sure to let us know.

    Dream Big,

    Shantel

Meet the Panelist: Shantel, Alabama

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
