Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Onorato ~
If your Father is unable to wait in a regular queue, he can request a Disability Access Service Card (DAS) by going to Guest Relations at any of the theme parks. He will not need to bring a copy of his disability tag or any other type of medical documentation. Cast Member (CM)s will ask him some questions so they can best accommodate his specific needs. They'll take his photo for the DAS, go over the terms and conditions and have him sign the card.
Here are some additional
details explaining how the DAS works. I've also included a list of
Frequently Asked Questions about the DAS.
It may also help your Father if you
rent a wheelchair for him. While he may feel fine first thing in the morning, the parks are huge and it may give him some relief and stamina to help him make it through the day more comfortably. Here is some
additional information on wheelchair rentals in the parks. In case you decide to rent a wheelchair, here is some
information regarding attractions for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including those that allow Guests to remain in their wheelchairs or ECVs, those that require Guests in ECVs to transfer to wheelchairs to board and those that require Guests to be mobile to enjoy.
Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
