My father in law wants to buy us tickets to Disney when we are there in August for my daughters birthday. How do we pick up the tickets when we arrive if its on his credit card?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! How nice of your father-in-law to offer to buy you tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort!

Let me say first that you will need those theme park tickets before you arrive so that you can make Disney Park Pass system reservations. If your father-in-law is a Florida Resident, just be sure that he does not purchase Florida Resident tickets for you because you would need Florida Resident identification. Once he purchases the tickets, those tickets need to be linked and assigned. If he has a My Disney Experience account and is connected to you through the My Family & Friends List, he can assign the tickets to you in My Disney Experience. You can then assign them to your daughter and whomever else is going. All of those people just need to be listed or connected in your My Family & Friends List in My Disney Experience.

If the tickets are not linked in My Disney Experience when he purchases them, your father-in-law will need to link them. Log into My Disney Experience, click on My Plans, and then click on Link Reservations and Purchases. I just recently gifted some tickets to a friend and her family. I used the My Disney Experience Mobile App to reassign the tickets. To do so, just open the mobile app, click on the three bars at the bottom right-hand side of the screen and then click on Tickets and Passes. To reassign the tickets, I simply clicked on the Reassign Ticket link underneath each ticket.

If your father-in-law is like my dad, he may not have a My Disney Experience account, so you may have to help him in that regard. Once you get those tickets linked, make Disney Park Pass system reservations for each day that you have valid theme park admission. Go ahead and check the theme park reservation availability calendar to review park pass availability for the dates of your visit.

Jennifer, I am so excited for you! If you have not done so already, consider booking a Disney Resorts Collection hotel so that you can stay right in the middle of the magic! Resort days lounging by the pool are the best!

    Magic and memories,
