Greetings, Alan, welcome to planDisney! I love that your family is interested in making special memories at the
Disneyland Resort. Some of my favorite childhood moments took place at the Happiest Place on Earth, from splitting a churro with my sister to braving Space Mountain for the first time.
Alan, I know this isn't the answer you're hoping for, but here's the scoop: The
Southern California Resident Ticket offer is only for residents within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599. Each adult using this ticket must show a government-issued photo ID at the entrance gate, like a California Driver's License or California ID, to prove eligible residency. That would mean that, even if your father-in-law purchased the tickets as a Southern California resident, you would not be able to use them for admission without proper proof of residency.
One option would be for your dad to purchase and use this ticket for himself while you and the rest of the family from Northern California visit with a standard theme park ticket. I encourage you to periodically check the
Offers & Discounts page on the Disneyland website to see if any other deals may work for you.
If I were to choose one thing that I'm most excited about at the Disneyland Resort this year, it's the
70th Anniversary Celebration. This starts after the SoCal Resident ticket offer ends. However, that wouldn't be a factor if you visit with a standard theme park ticket. The Disneyland Resort will become even more vibrant to celebrate seven decades of magic with limited-time entertainment, colorful decorations, specialty food and drinks, collectible merchandise, and more! The fun will also include the much-anticipated return of the
Paint the Night Parade, which features more than one million colorful lights.
Alan, even if it's not with the SoCal Resident Ticket, I hope you and your family can make it down to the Disneyland Resort soon. If you have any questions, please reach out. We are happy to help!
