Ahoy, Meghan!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm honored to help you think of ways to get your father-in-law aboard a Disney Cruise with Captain Mickey at the helm! My mom was also very reluctant to take a cruise; in order to get her onto a ship, my husband and I surprised my parents by paying for their first Disney Cruise! The four of us went together and had such a wonderful time. Now, my parents are Platinum Castaway Club Members and cruising with us multiple times a year!
Since your father-in-law sounds like a man on the go, choosing a Disney Cruise with fewer days at sea might be a good idea. I recommend choosing an
itinerary with destinations your father-in-law would love to visit! Then, show him the many different
Port Adventures that Disney Cruise Line offers in every port of call! If he's an adventurer, he could find an excursion snorkeling with undersea creatures. If he loves touring cities, there are so many Port Adventures that will take him right into the culture and history of each port of call.
Once he's back onboard, he'll have the opportunity to watch movies in the Buena Vista Theatre, eat delicious meals with his family each evening in the Main Dining restaurants, work out in the Fitness Center, listen to live music, watch Broadway-style shows and so much more!
Each evening you'll receive a Personal Navigator newsletter delivered to your stateroom that will have the activities and times listed for everything happening on and around the ship the following day. Your father-in-law will be able to fill his days with as many activities as he'd like. I hope I was able to help give you some ideas that will get him excited to book a Disney Cruise with his family!
