My father in law is a Florida resident and would like to give my family ticket passes as a gift. He lives on the west side of the state so it would be a haul for him to pick up tickets at the gate. Is he able to buy them online or in a Disney store?

Hi, Elissa! Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about discounted tickets.

How thoughtful of your father-in-law to want to buy your family Disney tickets using his discount! Florida residents are eligible for so many wonderful discounts, they're the luckiest people in the country!
However, those amazing discounts cannot be extended to non-resident friends or family members. All tickets purchased at a Florida resident discounted price can be used as long as proof of residency is shown at the gate, Elissa. Therefore, I am afraid you and your family will not be able to benefit from your father-in-law discount.

I recommend you go to this link to have a look at the various ticket options available. Once you make up your mind as to what kind and how many tickets you want to get, be sure to link them on your My Disney Experience account, so you can begin to make your FastPass+ selections (up to 30 days in advance of your visit). If you are all staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, remember you will have up to 60 days prior to your stay to make your FastPass+ selections, among other fabulous benefits!

Elissa, I hope this information is useful in your planning. Please come back with more questions about tickets, FastPass+, or anything else you need help with. I wish you and your family a memorable time at the Walt Disney World Resort!

    See ya real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
