Yolanda from CT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My father in law is a Florida resident and gifting my kids tickets to Disney. Does he need to be present for them to use their tickets or can he purchase them and verify identity online with his license and have the tickets sent to them.

    Hello there, Yolanda!

Welcome to planDisney. We're delighted you've dropped by with a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! The only thing better than visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth is experiencing it alongside the people you love. I'd be honored to help your family create lasting memories at my favorite Disney destination!

Yolanda, Florida residents can occasionally score some pretty amazing deals on theme park tickets. At the time of writing, these local resident Guests can take advantage of a special offer on 3-Day or 4-Day Discover Disney Tickets or discounted multi-day admission. It's important to note that these exclusive special offers are only offered to Florida residents, but can be shared with family members who are under age 18. However, the purchasing Florida resident must be present to provide proof of residency to activate the tickets at a theme park ticket window or the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs before the tickets can be used.

Once proof of residency has been confirmed, the Florida resident ticket purchaser doesn't necessarily need to be present in order for the tickets to be used to enter the theme parks. However, the more the merrier, so I do hope your generous father-in-law will be able to spend time with his grandchildren at The Most Magical Place on Earth! For me, visiting the Walt Disney World Resort as a child was always a special experience, but visiting now, accompanied by my parents and my own child is truly a gift.

I hope you've found this information helpful, Yolanda. If you have any additional vacation planning questions, you can always stop back by planDisney again. We're here to help your whole family make the most of its time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon,
