Hello, My father ink law is a Veteran. He would like to purchase tickets for my children (his grandchildren). However, he does not want to visit the park himself. Is it possible for him to use his discount if he is not present? Thank You, Jenn G

Hi there, Jennifer! Welcome to planDisney. We're happy you're here!

It sounds like you're making plans to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth and I couldn't be more excited for you! Believe it or not, many of the fall festivities begin in August at Walt Disney World Resort and I think you're going to find magic around every corner, which makes it one of my personal favorite times to visit. From Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, you're sure to have an extra special trip!

Jennifer, I truly want to thank your father-in-law for his service. As a military spouse, I understand the commitment and dedication that both service members and their families make. We deeply appreciate the way Walt Disney World Resort takes care of all of its Guests, including service members, and offers great rates on Disney Military Salute Tickets and rooms at select Disney Resort hotels. However, Eligible Service Members are active members and retired veterans of the US military and, unfortunately, your family won't be able to use this privilege without the Eligible Service Member accompanying you. The Eligible Service Member will need to show their active or retired DoD-issued ID at Guest Relations outside of the parks in order to use these promotional rates. I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, but I have some good news for you! I'd recommend taking a look at the Special Offers page to see if there are any rates that may apply to you directly. Currently, there are some great rates on a 4-Park Magic Ticket offer and rooms at select Disney Resort hotels. Since your trip is right around the corner, I'd recommend making this reservation as soon as you're able to! You'll also want to make theme park reservations with the Disney Park Pass system, which is an important step to reserve the parks you wish to visit on each day of your trip (until January 9, 2024).

If you have any other questions, please write back to us again! We're happy to help with advance dining reservations, using the My Disney Experience app, and more. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon!
