My father can’t walk far. We are celebrating 1 year after a heart attack and taking him to Magic Kingdom for his first time ever with his grand kids. Is there any way to get dropped off at MK is we aren’t staying on site? Disability pass, paid service?

    Greetings Rebecca!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. What a wonderful way to celebrate with your father. I am sure your trip will be full of magic!

When arriving at Magic Kingdom from outside Disney property, you will be dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there, you can take either the monorail or the ferry to the park. It is about a five-minute walk to the boarding area. If you want to add a little extra sparkle to the morning, consider breakfast with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey’s in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. You could also dine with royalty at 1900 Park Fare inside Disney’s Grand Floridian resort, where Tiana and Cinderella often greet guests. In both cases, your driver can drop you at the resort’s main entrance. Both of these resorts have direct monorail access.

Your longest stretch of walking will happen inside the park rather than from any drop-off point. If you are concerned about distance, you might consider renting a wheelchair or a scooter for your dad. My family often walks between seven and nine miles in a day at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

    See ya real soon!
