Hi Kendra,
When I would visit the resort with my father, he would rent an ECV from Disneyland.
Renting an ECV or wheelchair from the resort is a convenient and affordable way for those with limited mobility to still enjoy the beauty and magic of the Happiest Place on Earth. Just make sure to get there early, as rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Speaking from experience, access to
attractions for those using ECVs or wheelchairs will vary. For example, some attractions will use the standard entrance, some will use a modified entrance, and others may use the exit. Either way, attractions that do not have an obvious path for those with ECVs or wheelchairs will often have a Cast Member nearby or at the entrance who can guide you and your family.
Typically, Cast Members want to keep the entire party together. Therefore, you and your husband will likely be joining your father whenever an alternate queue is recommended or necessary.
Before you visit Disneyland Resort, I recommend you review the
Mobility Disabilities page. Here, you can find a list of ambulatory requirements for attractions. You can also find this information on the
Disneyland Mobile App as a filter on the Map.
Have a wonderful time! I hope you, your father, and your husband create many lifelong memories on your trip.
Happy planning,
Lola
