Hi! Since we have a Fastpass for Slinky Dog at 8:30-9:30 we aren’t able to get a Fastpass for the Fantismic show. Where do you recommend for best seating without Fastpass to see Fantismic? Thank you in advance!

Hi, Lori! Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Congratulations on scoring a FastPass+ reservation for Slinky Dog Dash! That is currently my favorite ride at Walt Disney World Resort. When my daughter and I rode it a couple of months ago, the fireworks finale from Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular was happening at the same time. Talk about true Disney Magic! With your FastPass+ window, there’s a chance for you to have the same experience--it’s just all about the timing.

Without a FastPass+ reservation for Fantasmic!, I would recommend arriving at the Sunset Boulevard amphitheater no less than 30 minutes prior to the show for the best seat selection. You’ll have to make a decision here, though. No matter where you sit, you’ll have a great view of the show, but you’ll need to decide if you’d rather sit near the front or the back and whether you want to be in the middle or along the sides. Sitting closer to the front will of course afford a better view of the show, but it will take you longer to get out of the theater to make your way back to Toy Story Land in time for your Slinky Dog Dash FastPass (since the crowd exits from the rear of the amphitheater). Sitting at the back will make it easier for you to leave when the show is over and will make that journey to Toy Story Land a little less stressful.

My family and I have sat in each area of the theater and have had a great view everywhere we’ve been. The theatrical elements are huge and the whole show is well-lit, so unless you’re super short and the person in front of you is super tall, you shouldn’t have to worry about your view no matter where you sit.

Enjoy your visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Lori! I hope you have a Magical time.
