FastPass with rider switch. We originally had FastPasses together but didn’t like that my 4 year old son would have to waste his FastPass on rides he wasn’t big enough.Question: my wife ride a big ride on rider switch without having a FastPass for the ride

    Hi ya Daniel!

Get ready for the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness, as you continue to plan for your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! FastPass+ service is great when it comes to traveling with a little Mouseketeer! My 5-year old son loves to experience as many attractions as possible, but we are still working on the process of what it means to wait in line. Thankfully, using FastPass+ allows us to select attractions we can enjoy as a family and saves time waiting in line. If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can make FastPass+ selections 60 days prior to check-in, using the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

You can save even more time by using Rider Switch and FastPass+ together! When using Rider Switch, only the first adult who goes through the queue needs to have a FastPass+ assigned to them, if they want to use one. The second rider will be given a Rider Switch entitlement. Once the first rider returns the second rider can then enter through the FastPass+ line. Your wife does not have to have a FastPass+ to ride an attraction that your 4-year old is too small for. She can still ride the attraction using the standby queue and request a Rider Switch for the second party!

I recommend using the My Disney Experience Mobile App to check current wait times before heading to the attraction. If both parties want to ride, just ask the Cast Member up front for a Rider Switch. Instead of waiting in the FastPass+ queue, the first rider would then wait in the standby queue. Like before, once the first rider returns, the second rider could ride using the Rider Switch entitlement through the FastPass+ queue. The process is almost identical to using a FastPass+ for the first rider. However, the wait time might be extended a little depending on the current standby queue wait time.

Here is a tip! If the first rider does not want to use a FastPass+ or wait in the standby queue, try single rider! Test Track, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, and Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain all offer a line for single riders. You can skip FastPass+ and use that instead! I find that these lines are often just as quick!

Thanks for using the Disney Parks Moms Panel, see ya real soon Daniel!
