It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ashley!
It sounds like we have a lot in common because I'm always trying to squeeze as much magic as I can into my day at Walt Disney World Resort. With the robust
complimentary transportation available, including the brand new
Disney Skyliner, there are plenty of ways to get you from point A to point B quickly and efficiently, so let's chat about what to do when you've got a
FastPass+ and an advanced dining reservation that are back-to-back but in different Theme Parks.
I will start off by saying that, as you have it right now, it's going to be a pretty tight squeeze to make both the FastPass+ you have scheduled for
Avatar Flight of Passage at
Disney's Animal Kingdom and your reservation at
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. If you tap your
MagicBand and redeem your FastPass+ at exactly 12:10 p.m., you will probably be exiting the attraction around 30 minutes later. From there, the best way to the exit of the Theme Park will be to walk back through
Pandora - The World of Avatar to Discovery Island, which will probably take about 10-15 minutes. At the bus stop, you can hop on a bus that will take you directly to
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Buses arrive approximately every 20 minutes, and it will be about a 20-minute ride to get there. Remember that once you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios you will need to go through the security checkpoint so you can safely enter the Theme Park. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant is in the Commissary Lane area so plan for about a 10-minute walk from the entrance.
If all of that goes exactly according to plan, you will be arriving at the restaurant just in time for your reservation. I have tried to make plans like this before and trust me when I say that it is not very fun to be constantly checking the time in fear of missing a dining reservation. For that reason, I recommend checking to see if you could push your meal forward to around 30 minutes to an hour later. That will give you the time that you need to enjoy your banshee flight and still have a buffer of time in case you arrive at the bus stop just in time to see a Disney's Hollywood Studios bus pulling away. Since there is a per-person fee for missing a dining reservation, I feel like it's always better to be safe and allow myself extra time for any unexpected delays.
Have a magical day, Ashley!
