Hey Kerri-
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You are headed for a rootin’ tooin’ good time at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. We love this unique rustic getaway on the shore of Bay Lake. Be sure to check out the
Tri-Circle-D Ranch while you are there. We saw the parade horses get their “shoes.”
When getting from place to place within Walt Disney World Resort using
Disney’s Complimentary Resort Transportation, Disney always recommends budgeting 90 minutes of travel time. In my experience you have multiple options. Option 1 is to take a bus from Disney’s All Star Music Resort to Magic Kingdom Park. Then catch a water taxi (water launch) from the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Buses and water taxis leave every 15 minutes. Each trip also takes about 15 minutes. So with Option 1 it could take over 60-90 minutes to travel between resorts. You may also travel by bus only from your resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Downtown Disney Marketplace bus stop and transfer buses to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. There are more buses on the road during early and late hours when the theme parks open and close and less buses midday when Guests are in the theme parks. More buses means a shorter wait time.
Disney Dad Tip: Even though it is not free I would recommend travel by taxi service. The expense should be around $20.00 and take around 15 minutes. It’s stress free, direct and saves tons of time.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I may answer any further questions for you.
Kerri, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
