What is the fastest way to get from Riverside to Port Orleans French Quarter? Is there a boat? Or is it better to walk or Uber? Thank you.

    Welcome back to planDisney, Jill!

It's always an honor to help Guests maximize the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, but I'm particularly delighted when the question allows me to discuss one of my Disney favorites — in this case, Disney's Port Orleans Resorts!

Although I'm a Georgia native, I'm married to a Mouseketeer who hails from Louisiana, so we love calling Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter our magical home away from home. One of our favorite things about Port Orleans - French Quarter (aside from its incredible theming and compact size) is how its proximity to Port Orleans - Riverside allows us to enjoy the pools, restaurants, and theming of two Resort hotels for the price of one!

While I do want to encourage you to enjoy the Sassagoula River Cruise during your stay - it's such a unique route to Disney Springs - I think you'll find the quickest way to travel between the two Port Orleans Resorts is by foot. While the boat definitely travels faster than you can walk, you never know just how long you'll need to wait for one to either ride or depart. The convenient walking path is clearly labeled and follows a beautiful route with a view of Magnolia Bend along the Sassagoula River. You'll know you've arrived at the French Quarter when you see the colorful buildings come into view. Be sure to keep an eye out for King Neptune in the Doubloon Lagoon pool area!

Although we prefer to stay in the French Quarter, Port Orleans - Riverside is home to one of our favorite restaurants. Boatwright's Dining Hall's menu features all of our favorites — fried okra, pimento cheese, red beans and rice, shrimp, and jambalaya — cooked so well that a meal at Boatwright's reminds me of those served in my grandmother's kitchen!

I hope this helps, Jill, and that your upcoming vacation is filled with magical memories. If you need any additional assistance as you continue to plan, feel free to stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
