Is it faster to bring a bike to get around Fort Wilderness Campground instead of using the internal bus system?

Hi Adam! Fort Wilderness is a great place to bring your bikes to get around this large resort. It is recommended you use the sidewalks as there is a lot of car and bus traffic on the roads. But please keep speeds slow as there are also many guests walking and pets on the sidewalks at certain times of the day. Using a bike is going to be faster then waiting for the buses and there are parking areas for bikes both at the front bus depot and at the marina. I suggest you bring a lock for the bike just to be safe that someone doesn't take the wrong bike.

Also remember there is a beautiful path that goes from the Fort Wilderness stables (at Pioneer Hall) to the Wilderness Lodge resort. Keep your eyes peeled for the many deer that live in that area. I have yet to walk or bike that route without seeing at least one. They feel pretty secure and you can usually get some great photos as they stay fairly close. But remember they are wild animals so do not feed or think they are tame and get too close.

Have fun biking....we love our biking time when we come to the Fort!
