Is there fast track for rides on Epcot

    Hello, James. Welcome to planDisney!

A vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort, The Most Magical Place On Earth, is a one-of-a-kind experience with all there is to see and do. From the four Theme Parks, two Water Parks, Disney Springs, and ample dining options located throughout the property, maximizing your time is important. While the Disney FastPass system, which allowed Guests to minimize their wait time for select attractions and experiences, is no longer, it has been replaced with something new, Disney Genie+. Before I get into what is available through Genie+ at EPCOT, let’s make sure you know all of your options and the differences between them.

Disney Genie+ Service needs to be purchased each day of your visit (price fluctuates by day and park) and allows Guests to use Lightning Lane entrances at select attractions and experiences. Guests that purchase Genie+ can make one Lightning Lane selection at a time; the first selection can be made at 7:00 AM. Once you redeem a Lightning Lane selection, you can book another, or if two hours have passed since your last selection, you can book another.

Individual Lightning Lanes are purchased Á La Carte for select attractions and are separate from the Genie+ Service. To purchase an Individual Lightning Lane Entry, you will open your My Disney Experience App, click the menu icon (three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner), then “LL Rides, Shows & Lightning Lane Entry,” followed by “Tip Board,” and then select an individual Lightning Lane experience and follow the prompts to purchase.

Virtual Queues are accessible through your My Disney Experience App and are used for select attractions. Only TRON Lightcycle / Run in the Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT utilize Virtual Queues, so there is no standby line/queue. Joining a Virtual Queue is free, can be requested at 7:00 AM and/or 1:00 PM (with certain restrictions), is limited in availability, and does not guarantee the ability to experience the ride.

With all that said, let’s look at some of the attractions or experiences available at EPCOT that would utilize Genie+, Individual Lightning Lanes (ILL), or Virtual Queues.

    Lightning Lane Entrances:

    • Frozen Ever After
    • Journey into Imagination with Figment
    • Living with the Land
    • Mission: SPACE – Green and Orange
    • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
    • Soarin’ Around the World
    • Spaceship Earth
    • Test Track
    • The Seas with Nemo & Friends
    • Turtle Talk with Crush

    Individual Lightning Lanes:

    • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

    Virtual Queues:

    • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

I hope this helps with your EPCOT planning, James. If you have any follow-up questions or would like my opinion on which rides are worth Genie+, Individual Lightning Lane purchase, or joining the Virtual Queue, drop me a line! Enjoy your upcoming vacation, and we will see you real soon!
