    How do "Fast Passes" work?

    Hi Lori! Welcome to planDisney!

Your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is only FIVE days away! As your vacation countdown nears the end, I'm sure you are busy with planning all the details of your travel, packing, and days in the theme parks. It will be here before you know it!

When the theme parks reopened last summer, FastPass+ Service did not return and it was recently announced that this service would be retired completely. In its place, Disney Genie+ Service and Lightning Lane will begin this fall. We don't have an exact date at this time, but since your visit is so close, you will most likely not experience this feature quite yet. You can read up about this new service on the Disney Parks Blog and keep an eye out for any announcements regarding exactly when this feature will launch.

For your trip, you'll simply head to the standby queues for all attractions. The only exception to this is for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance where a virtual queue is available through the My Disney Experience mobile app. My family loves to be in the theme parks early to get some of the more popular attractions in before the theme parks get more crowded later in the day. It helps us keep wait times as short as possible!

I hope you have the BEST vacation, Lori! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
