Heigh-Ho Sandra!
Thanks for your question. Since there are 7 of you, I can't resist but to give you the honorary label of "The Seven Dwarfs Family." You can be "Happy Sandra." :-)
So yes, Disney offers a most fantastic program aptly named "
Rider Switch." This program officially started to help families such as yours, when you have that young one who may not quite be ready for the more thrilling rides, based on minimum height requirements. My son was barely 2 years old on his first Disney trip, and we found ourselves using this feature plenty throughout the
theme parks. You definitely can go ahead and make your
FastPass+ selections for your entire family at the same time, this will have no bearing with using Rider Switch. I must note, however, that the Rider Switch program is not available for every attraction, so check the
Rider Switch page, it will tell you which attractions in each theme park this is actually offered.
Simply what you do is approach the Cast Member at the attraction entrance with the entire family, including the child who will not be riding. The Cast Member will give the adult who will be waiting with the child a Rider Switch entitlement, then instruct the adult (with child) to wait in a designated area (typically that area is outside the attraction, but very near its entrance or exit). After the group completes the attraction, they will meet you at the designated area, take the child, then you can use the Rider Switch with up to 2 members of your family. It's Disney's way of giving the adult who waited an opportunity to ride the attraction, but not alone. The cool thing is those 2 family members could be the same members who got off the first time, which means they get to experience the attraction 2 times in a row! Neat huh?
Enjoy yourself, and may you and your family have a magical time!
