Should i get 4 fast passes if we plan on using the rider switch program. My 6yo and husband ride splash mountain first with FP, and myself and 4yo ride second? we have a 6yo, 4yo, and 6 month old. thank you.

    Hi Jillian,

Rider Switch is a really handy feature which my Husband and I have used many times in the past. It allows adult Guests to take turns waiting with youngsters or Guests unable to ride certain attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Walt Disney World website states that "if a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!"

As you would not technically be waiting in the regular line to begin with (at attractions where you have secured FastPass+ selections), I would say that you would probably be best to make FastPass+ reservations for all four of you who will be experiencing the attraction.

This will mean that you don't need to use the Rider Switch feature at attractions where you have FastPass+ selections. Your Husband and 6-year old could ride the attraction first (using their FastPass+ selection) and then once they have returned, you could ride with your 4-year old (using your Fastpass+ selection).

Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
