If you have fast passes for an outdoor ride and the ride is shut down due to weather during your pass time. Do you get another time, go whenever, or do you loose your fast pass?

Hi Mary Ann, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Ah, Florida weather. One minute the sun is shining, and the next is a deluge. Just another of the charms of life here in the "Sunshine State!" When those inevitable rains come (especially in the summer), you may find that some of the outdoor attractions will need to take a little break until the sun peeks out again. If the affected attractions happen to be your FastPass+ selections, never fear. Your plans won't be a total washout.

First, keep an eye on your phone once your FastPass+ window opens for an email letting you know that the attraction has closed. The email will tell you that you may use your FastPass+ selection for the same attraction once it's reopened, or provide a list of alternate attractions you can experience with your FastPass+ selection instead. Usually, if a ride has shut down for any reason, you'll have until the Theme Park closes to use your FastPass+ selection, whether you choose to wait for your original attraction to reopen or hop on one of the alternate selections offered.

In addition to email, you should receive an alert on your My Disney Experience mobile app with the same information. And of course, if you have any questions just ask the nearest Cast Member. They'll be happy to help you figure out how to weather the storm.

I hope this helps put your mind at ease, Mary Ann. Wishing you clear skies and a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
