I have a fast pass for 9:20 for test track (tier 1). Our plan was to head directly to Soarin then head to test track. We were hoping to then get another tier 1 fast pass. Would that plan work? or do we HAVE to also include tier 2?

Hi, Diane! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for bringing us a great FastPass+ planning question. Currently, Guests visiting Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios must utilize a Tier system when making their FastPass+ selections. At each of these parks, you may choose one experience from those listed in Tier 1 and two experiences from Tier 2. You are welcome to only make one Tier 1 FastPass+ selection, or to even make all three from Tier 2. At this time, however, the system will restrict you from redeeming a single Tier 1 FastPass+ choice and then immediately trying to make another Tier 1 selection.

You will need to make two Tier 2 selections for that day before you can attempt to make another Tier 1 selection. Something interesting to note is that you do not actually have to redeem those Tier 2 selections. Either their time of use has to expire or they have to be redeemed for the system to allow you to search for an available subsequent Tier 1 selection. Given that you have made a selection for early morning, I recommend you try to stack your Tier 2 selections as close to that Test Track FastPass+ as possible.

I was at Epcot last week with my family and had some success getting subsequent Tier 1 FastPass+ selections each day. Just know that it takes a bit of work! As soon as my last Tier 2 selection was redeemed, I began the task of scanning for any Epcot FastPass+ available on the My Disney Experience app. I repeatedly hit the afternoon and evening buttons hoping something would pop up. Eventually, I would find a set for Soarin' or Test Track and become "Best Mom Ever." Know that availability is not guaranteed, but you are always welcome to try. You never know when pixie dust may happen!

I hope this helps you have a magical day in Epcot, Diane. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your trip.
