Fast pass and rider switch. How does this work? If mom and 2 kids have fastpass for first ride and then dad swaps, he has a fastpass but 2 kids just used theirs with mom, can they still ride with dad?

    Hiya again, Samantha!

I am glad you are planning ways to maximize the magic during your visit to the Disneyland Resort. I can imagine the smiles on the faces of your children as you explore Adventureland, climb about Grizzly Peak, experience the joy of Fantasyland, and more.

Both Disney FASTPASS and Rider Switch are great services to help you find even more enjoyment together as a family. Usually, Rider Switch is used with the standby queue of an attraction that features this service. Two groups of your party take turns, sometimes with overlapping members of the groups. The second group is granted Rider Switch entitlements associated with their tickets to give them a shorter wait time so your family can all get back together again sooner. Rider Switch can also sometimes be used in conjunction with FASTPASS. As mentioned previously, all guests that wish to experience an attraction using the FASTPASS service must first obtain a FASTPASS return time.

Using Rider Switch with FASTPASS can at least ensure that the second group to ride will have their return time remain valid should the turn of the first group conclude after the original return window has expired. At the discretion of the Cast Members at the attraction, I have found that it may also be possible for some members of your party to experience an attraction once with their original FASTPASS and again with a Rider Switch entitlement added to their park ticket. Depending on attraction capacity, Cast Members may be able to make these arrangements. You can discuss with the Cast Members at the FASTPASS return entrance to determine the best option for your family and in accordance with attraction availability.

In some cases, the Cast Member making Rider Switch arrangements may be able to allow for multiple rides for your Mouseketeers. At other times, they may request that you split into two even groups for taking Rider Switch turns, with one parent and one child in each group. It never hurts to ask for a double-dip. But the Cast Members will appreciate your understanding if they cannot accommodate it at a given time.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort together with your family, Samantha!
