The
Rider Switch Service is such a helpful feature to make sure everyone gets a chance to experience an attraction that wants to. This feature is available at all attractions in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park and can be utilized at
Lightning Lane entrances as well (purchase of
Disney Genie+ Service required to access this), if all riders have a Lightning Lane return window when you arrive.
In general, Rider Switch is available for Guests who don't meet boarding requirements for an attraction, have a service animal that can't board the attraction or wait in a provided kennel, or can't wait the duration of the queue and need another party member to do the waiting for them.
When you arrive at the attraction, you can approach a Cast Member at the entrance and let them know you'd like to use Rider Switch. Your group will be divided into 2 parties - Party 1 will board first and Party 2 will wait and the Cast Member will scan their tickets. After Party 1 is done, then Party 2 will return to the entrance of the attraction to have their tickets re-scanned and they'll be able to experience the attraction.
