What is a Fast Pass Planning Key Card?

Hey, Angela! This is such a great question and it had me doing a bit of digging for a few minutes! It turns out that these FastPass+ Planning Key Cards are a bit of magical pixie dust that help the computer systems do their job. Sometimes, even Fairy Godmother's magic wand just doesn't have what it takes to make magic happen. That's where these digital magic makers come into play.

Under normal circumstances, FastPass+ selections can be made 30 days in advance for all guests, 60 days in advance for those staying at a Disney Resort Hotel. The way that some Disney Theme Parks Tickets, Annual Passes, or Disney Resort Hotel Packages are set up does not readily trigger the FastPass+ selection window to open. I can tell you from personal experience that it's a tense moment when you are up early and ready to make those selections, only to have the system not allow you to do so! Yikes! To help make everything go according to plan, a FastPass+ Planning Key Card can be added to a person's My Disney Experience account as needed. This is the thingamabob that does the job of giving the system a green light to allow FastPass+ selections when it is trying to tell itself to not allow it. Kind of cool, right? I assume it works a whole lot better than me yelling at the computer to "LET ME IN!"

The FastPass+ Planning Key Card is rarely needed, but is automagically added in most cases. If you ever find yourself unable to make FastPass+ selections when you expect to do so, just give the FastPass+ phone line a call to see if they can help. You may just find that little magic maker put to work for you!
