Your question takes me right back, Kelli. I still remember racing from attraction to attraction to scan my ticket at those nearby kiosks and collect paper FastPasses. Those were the days.
Today, the FastPass system has been replaced with the convenient Lightning Lane Multi Pass service. Lightning Lane Multi Pass allows you to skip the standby line and enter a shorter queue at select attractions, and the best part is that everything is managed right from the Disneyland app.
You will want to add Lightning Lane to your tickets at the time of purchase, or you can add it once you have been scanned into the parks. After Lightning Lane service has been added, and you have entered a park, you can select your first Lightning Lane attraction. Once you redeem that Lightning Lane, or after two hours have passed, you are eligible to select your next one. It really is that easy.
A little tip from my own park days. After scanning into a Lightning Lane attraction, we often select our next one while waiting in the queue. Even though Lightning Lane is much shorter than standby, there is usually still a brief wait, and grabbing your next return time while you wait keeps the momentum going.
Here are a few important things to know about Lightning Lane:
Lightning Lane is available only on select attractions, not every attraction offers it.
Each eligible attraction can be experienced using Lightning Lane one time per day.
Some attractions only offer Lightning Lane Single Pass, which is purchased separately and is not included with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
If you really want to maximize your day and skip scheduling altogether, you may want to consider Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This option lets you ride attractions when you want without booking return windows, giving you the freedom to move through the parks at the speed of Lightning McQueen.
No matter which Lightning Lane option you choose, be sure to take advantage of the included PhotoPass downloads. Stop by the many PhotoPass Photographers throughout the parks to capture those special moments, with all photos conveniently loaded right into your Disneyland app.
