Howdy Chris!
Welcome to
planDisney! Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is a camping experience like no other! Being able to enjoy the great outdoors with a short boat ride to the Magic Kingdom Park makes this camping spot filled with “What dreams are made of!” Thank you for sharing your question with us!
Camping at the
Walt Disney World Resort in the winter sounds like a lot of roasted marshmallow fun! Oh boy! You will be making memories to cherish forever! Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort offers two shopping locations. The
Meadow Trading Post, which is more centrally located in the middle of the resort. Also, The
Settlement Trading Post, which is located close to the docks and dining options. If you are traveling from the Meadow Trading Post to the docks, I recommend utilizing one of the internal buses, but the Settlement Trading Post is a short walk to the docks. I have placed a couple of links in the highlighted text above to check out the maps for each shopping location.
If you would like to travel throughout Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort without waiting for the internal buses, you could rent a
golf cart! We always rent a golf cart from the resort during our stays. Having our golf cart allows our family more flexibility during our vacation. Since golf carts book up quickly, I recommend reserving your golf cart as soon as possible!
To stay informed of all the festivities for the 50th anniversary, check “
The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and the
Disney Parks Blog websites! These two websites will keep you up-to-date on all the announcements for this grand celebration!
If you have any more questions as you plan your adventure in January, please come back to planDisney! We look forward to helping you have a vacation that you will never forget, Chris!
See Ya Real Soon,
Tamela
