Hello, Amy! Welcome back to the Moms Panel!
The main difference between preferred and standard rooms is simply location. Preferred rooms are generally more expensive because the rooms are well situated by the pools, bus areas and the main building which usually includes the food courts and shopping area. I tend to use my extra dollars on souvenirs instead of preferred rooms when I travel with my husband and three boys. However, when I bring my parents along, a preferred room is a must because my parents cannot be on their feet too long. Although there a no really long distances, my parents are much older and do find it very difficult even with short distances.
I love value resorts simply because they are candy for the eyes. There are so beautiful and the kids are just in awe with everything sitting around each of these resorts. Why spend this big dollars when you will just need the place to sleep. You will spend the majority of your day in the parks. Save the deluxe resorts for a second honeymoon!
My most favorite resort is
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. The giant icons from many familiar classic Disney films are simply
MAGICAL! The 2 pool areas are fantastic and your little ones will love them. The newest value resort is
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Although I have not had the chance to enjoy this resort just yet, the other Moms Panelists cannot say enough about it. We are quite a picky bunch and this resort is proving to be a favorite not only with them, but for other guests. Personally, I would try this one first for your first visit.
~Have a
MAGICAL day and
"SEE YOU REAL SOON"!~
