how far out can you start booking and planning our trip? we wanted to start for Jan-Feb 2018 but those dates don't open on the planning calendar on the website?

    Hi, Stephanie!

I truly think that you and I would be best friends...once I know we are going on a vacation, I want it planned ASAP!  My family is planning on a January 2018 visit to Walt Disney World, so I am with you, very anxious to make those reservations.

You have a few options.  One option is to sit tight for a few months until the 2018 dates and rates are posted on Disneyworld.com allowing you to book your vacation online with updated pricing. Your second option is to call (407)934-7639 and book a "room only" reservation. The price cannot be confirmed upon reserving, and might/will be adjusted when rates are finalized. Room Only reservations can be made up to 499 days in advance.  Once dates/rates are posted, you can convert that Room Only reservation to a package with tickets and dining if you choose to do so.

So what to do? Well, unless you are looking at a very specific room category that will have very limited availability, you are probably OK to wait it out. But, if you are worried about securing that perfect room at a certain resort with a particular view, then you might want to get a reservation started.  I know I just need a room at the Polynesian, and beyond that I really do not have a preference on room type/location, so I am going to wait to book when the 2018 information is finalized and published. But it is up to you how you want to proceed with your plans.

Remember to mark your calendar for your 180 day Dining Reservation booking window, and your 60 day FastPass+ booking window. Your
magical vacation will be here before you know it!
