Hey there, Jayme! Thanks for visiting here at planDisney with your question.
The
park pass reservation system was introduced to us last year as the parks were reopening. It's a great solution for Walt Disney World to be able to control the theme park capacity during these unprecedented times. Currently, Guests are able to secure park pass reservations up until January 14, 2023. Before you purchase tickets, I highly recommend taking a quick peek over at the availability calendar to make sure there are spots open at the parks you'd like to visit on a particular day. The
theme park availability calendar is broken down into three categories - Guests with Theme Park tickets only, Guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort Hotels and Annual Passholders. You'll want to be sure that you are viewing the calendar that most pertains to you because they do have different availabilities. After you've made sure there is park availability, you can go ahead and purchase your Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets and link them to your MyDisneyExperience account. Once the tickets are linked, you are able to head over to the park pass reservation website and secure your spots.
If you are hoping to make park pass reservations for a trip in October, I would go ahead and do so now. October 1st, 2021 is the kick-off of the
Most Magical Celebration taking place over the next 18 months. It's the Walt Disney World Resort's 50th anniversary and wow, there is going to be some magic in store for us - that's for sure! The beginning of October will certainly be a magical time to visit as Walt Disney World debuts some of its new attractions, decorations and more. In fact, we still don't know what is all in store for us starting in October but if you are interested in finding out more, you can join the
mailing list (visit the website linked and scroll down to add your email) to be one of the first to know when information about the celebration is released. I think the first part of October is going to pretty busy so you'll want to be sure to make your park pass reservations as soon as possible.
Jayme, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm happy to help. Have fun!
