Hi there Connie, and welcome to planDisney!
When it comes to finding your way around Walt Disney World Resort, you've come to the right person! I've personally spent a chunk of time researching the most efficient routes between the theme parks and
Disney Resort Hotels, so I'm glad to be helping you as you plan to make your way from
Disney's Hollywood Studios over to enjoy a meal over at
Ale & Compass Restaurant or perhaps a drink over at
Ale & Compass Lounge.
I recently ran a test that timed how look it took to get between Disney's Hollywood Studios and
Disney's BoardWalk to see what would be the most efficient
transportation method and here are a few insights that you might find useful with
Disney's Yacht Club Resort as your final destination:
- The most leisurely way to go by far is by utilizing the FriendShip Boats that slowly drift along the waterways, making a stop between the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels before allowing guests to disembark at the lighthouse at the end of the long dock leading to Disney's Yacht Club Resort. If you're looking at convenience, this is the way to go with an average travel time that can reach 20 minutes depending on how long it takes to load and offload guests at the previous stop.
- An alternative that can be a bit faster with sweeping views from above is the Disney Skyliner, though this will require you to make a transfer between lines at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort before continuing on your journey towards your final stop at International Gateway at EPCOT. I've been able to make this trip in just under 15 minutes, but keep in mind that this tends to get increasingly busier later in the day (especially after Disney's Hollywood Studios closes) and can be impacted by weather delays. Something also important to consider is that as you exit at the International Gateway station, you'll still need to make your way over a bit of an incline before passing Disney's Beach Club Resort along the way.
- Some folks may be just as speedy as Dash from The Incredibles to make their way over via the pathways that lead to Disney's BoardWalk from Disney's Hollywood Studios, but this may or may not be the greatest option depending on the weather and could take you the same amount of time either way.
I hope that this helps you get an idea of
the transportation options that you've got out there Connie, but if you ask me I tend to lean towards the nautical options out there which just makes more storytelling sense when you're headed to the seaside-inspired Ale & Compass surroundings!
Wishing you all the best as you Go the Distance on your upcoming visit!
