Hi Patricia! Welcome to planDisney, my fellow Coloradan. We are so glad you stopped by with this great question.
I absolutely love staying on property at the
Disneyland Resort, and I have had the chance to stay at all three hotels.
Pixar Place Hotel is especially fun, filled with colorful sketch art of your favorite Pixar pals. On one of our mornings heading to the parks, we even ran into Bing Bong near the giant Pixar Ball just off the lobby, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled.
Patricia, the walk from Pixar Place Hotel to
Downtown Disney District is an easy stroll of about a quarter mile, or roughly 10 minutes at a relaxed pace to the security checkpoints. You have two great options for getting there.
If you want to experience the full length of Downtown Disney, head west on Paradise Way, then turn north onto Disneyland Drive. After about 800 feet, you will arrive at the security checkpoint and can enjoy every shop and eatery along the way, including the newer Parkside Market, which offers four
dining options under one roof.
Your second option brings you into Downtown Disney about halfway through the district by walking through
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Simply cross the street east from Pixar Place and enter the Grand Californian. Take a moment to soak in the stunning Craftsman-style lobby, then follow signs north past the conference area to exit near the security checkpoint.
Downtown Disney District is packed with shopping, dining, and entertainment, and you could easily make a full day of fun just exploring, without a theme park ticket! Grab a meal and bowl a game at
Splitsville Luxury Lanes, and be sure to stop by
World of Disney for the largest selection of Disney merchandise at the resort.
Patricia, I hope you have a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort and a wonderful stay at Pixar Place Hotel. Please stop back and see us if any more questions pop up as you plan.
See you real soon,
Kimberly
