How far out can you book character dining reservations?

    Hi Leslie!
    Welcome to planDisney.

I really enjoy character dining at Walt Disney World - whether in the parks or at the Disney Resort hotels, you will be guaranteed to meet the characters at your table in a relaxed way.  Our Disney friends are always happy to pose for photos with each of you (or all together in a group), sign autographs and interact with your family.

Character Dining can be booked up to 60 days in advance, in the same way as other dining reservations.  You can do this online or by using your My Disney Experience app.  If you have a Disney Resort hotel reservation, your dining reservations become available 60 days before your arrival date, and you will be able to make reservations for the first 10 days of your trip, at your 60-day mark.

Character dining is very popular, so please be ready with your first choices - and if you have trouble securing your preferred dates, keep trying as other guests change their plans all the time - even on the same day.

My favourites are Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White (at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom Park). You'll meet Snow White, Dopey and Grumpy, with an invitation to meet the Evil Queen after your meal - you'll never get a smile out of her!!   The food is good here too.

Inside Magic Kingdom Park I recommend The Crystal Palace for breakfast with Winnie-the-Pooh and friends - who wouldn't want to hug Eeyore? - he needs all the love!

If Disney princesses are your thing, you can't beat Cinderella's Royal Table inside Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park!  You'll meet and have photos with Cinderella herself before going up to the beautiful dining room where other princesses will visit your table while you dine.  This is super-popular, so please be ready just before 6.00am ET (when reservations open).  Pre-payment is also required for this reservation.

If you are visiting any theme park you will need park tickets for that day, even if you are just entering the park for dining.

I wish you luck and hope you get all the reservations you would like!  Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can send me a direct question if you wish.  We are always happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World!
