Hey there, Caronnie, and welcome to planDisney!
I've learned the hard way that the distance from your resort to one of the parks when you're trying to rope drop can be crucial. This Fairy Godmother is going to do her best to get you to the ball on time.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge holds a special place in my heart. Stepping out onto that balcony and seeing a giraffe or a wildebeest is nothing short of breathtaking. Of course, all that space for our animal friends requires a bit of room and leaves this resort a bit out of the way. According to my research, the bus travel times from this resort would be approximately:
20 minutes to Magic Kingdom Park
20 minutes to EPCOT
15 minutes to Disney's Hollywood Studios
10 minutes to Disney's Animal Kingdom
Mind you, we're not accounting for rain, sleet, dark of night, Chip 'n' Dale making mischief, or any other possible delays. I think the safest bet is to be ready to leave your resort an hour before any
Advance Dining Reservations or
Lightning Lane Passes. This should give you plenty of time to tap those MagicBands at the gates, see those Mickey's change from white to green, and get to your destination.
Pro-tip: The buses tend to run every 20 minutes or so. You can always check out their arrival times in the
My Disney Experience app.
Extra pro-tip: There's no way you're going to allude to staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge without me begging you to book an Advance Dining Reservation for
Jiko-The Cooking Place. I'm embarrassed at how often I think about the short rib isitambu, and I won't be ashamed alone!
Caronnie, I like the way you think. You sound like you run a tight ship, and I'm sure you'll sail through your Disney vacation with ease. Don't be a stranger over here at planDisney!
Happy planning!
